This is a great class for anyone interested in learning Hindi from the basics. This class will teach conversational / written / reading aspect of Hindi.

Beginners 

 

Emphasizes learning the Hindi vowels & consonants, names of animals, fruits, birds, colors, vegetables, body parts, Hindi numbers 0-30, simple 2-4 letter words, & a few poems.

 

When completed, most students should be able to understand & speak simple sentences. Students will also be able to sing a couple of the poems they learned.

 

Beginners II

 

Students will be taught all the maatraas, common words, clothes, shapes, names of objects around the house, days of the week, Hindi numbers 31-50, Hindi sentences, & interrogative [common] words. At the end of the level, the students will make  their own picture alphabet book.

 

By the completion of this level, the student should be able to read & speak sentences with maatraas

Intermediate I

 

Sentences with maatraas, feelings, interrogative sentences, directions [north, south, here there, etc.], conjunctions, seasons, numbers 51-70

 

We will practice sentence formation in interrogatives, build Hindi vocabulary, & general conversational rules.

 

Intermediate II

 

Emphasis on reading & writing, opposites, synonyms, time, Hindi numbers 71-100, measurements, use of whose, when & how, grammar. 

 

Intermediate III

Use of has, have, & please, family relationship names, tense usage of verbs.

We will practice sentence in different tenses. Upon achievement of the level, the student should be able to read short stories & answer related questions in their own words, & summarize the story with ease. Conversations at stores, restaurants, airports, home, etc. will be taught. Revision of grammar rules learned previously will also be included in the level.

ADVANCED I

 

Students start to fluently speak, read and write Hindi sentences, stores, & books.

Grammatical structures are explained to build confidence in building their own sentences for writing & conversation. There will be prominence on remembering common nouns, objectives & verbs. On completion, students should be able to catch incorrect grammar usage.

 

ADVANCED II

Students will learn about monuments and great personalities of India through biographies and other sources. Students will also learn about major festivals in India.

At the end of the level, the student should be able to easily write about themselves and about their hero or goals in life.

Month to Month Rate  - $50 per student for  45 mins class with 3 or more students per month

                                -  $60 per student for  30 mins class with 1 or 2 students per month.
